"Tiziano and the image of woman" exhibition
From February 23rd to June 5th Comune di Milano Cultura and Palazzo Reale present a large art exhibition about the main Venetian artists of 16th century, precursors in demonstrating interest in depicting on canvas the various nuances of female beauty.
Although women in the art world were still rare figures, they gradually assumed greater importance in Venetian Renaissance society, some of young and noble women approached the study of disciplines such as literature, painting and music. The exhibition, realised in collaboration with the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, will also include works by Tintoretto, Veronese and Palma il Vecchio.
Opening hours
Tuesday to Sunday 10 am to 7.30 pm, Thursday closing at 10.30 pm. Last admission to the exhibition one hour before. Closed on Mondays.
