MACBETH: opening night at La Scala Theatre

La Scala's 2021-2022 Opera Season, full of expectations and masterpieces from the Italian tradition and the French, Russian, Austrian, German and English repertoire, debuts on 7 December, a classic date and symbol of Milan that celebrates the feast of St. Ambrose, the city's patron saint. Giuseppe Verdi's Macbeth has been chosen for the opening, starring the famous Anna Netrebko in the role of Lady Macbeth and celebrating its fifth opening, approaching the record of six openings achieved by Maria Callas and Mirella Freni.
