Ideal Profile:

The ideal person has served as a Chef de rang in fine dining establishments and possesses basic service skills.

 

He/she also possesses the following characteristics:

  • Experience of at least 3 to 5 years in high-end hotel facilities, luxury restaurants or international chains, bars, or high-standard food services
  • Habit of working under pressure while maintaining very high levels of quality
  • Customer contact disposition, organizational skills and team spirit
  • Knowledge of professional Italian and English; possible knowledge of another foreign language (German or Russian)
  • Familiarity with major POS and common software.
     

 

What is offered is:

A full-time, shift work contract 5 days a week (no "broken time").

Duties

  • Support the Executive Chef in ensuring flawless and timely service in the department
  • Participate in the preparation of food items according to guest orders of consistent quality; complete mise en place and set up station for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner service

We are looking for a Front Office & Guest Experience Clerk to join our team in Milan.

The resource will be part of the Front Office / Concierge department and, in synergy with the Room Division Manager and other people in the team, will be responsible for providing excellent services to guests, making their stay unique and exceeding expectations.

 

Specifically, he/she:

  • Takes the lead in the reservation and stay preparation process, handling room assignments
  • Manages all activities related to receiving and welcoming guests, such as check-in and check-out operations
  • Makes contact with guests and VIPs directly or through travel agents, also assigns VIP set ups and amenities in consultation with Department Managers
  • Personalizes the guest's arrival and stay experience, answering their questions and handling their needs and other special requests to make their stay unique
  • Coordinates and supervises guest activities in collaboration with the Concierge
  • Handles complaints, resolving stressful situations and providing solutions to problems
  • Promotes the facilities and services offered by the hotel, actively participating in sales activities and upsell/cross-sell of rooms and additional services, including managing and maintaining relationships with travel agents
  • Manages customers via phone, email and general correspondence in both pre and post stay, as well as monitor and take care of operational applications (SYSDAT, HOXEL, PASSPORT SCAN, pre and post emailing, etc)
  • Assists with back-office activities
  • Checks and manages the master records of regular customers
  • Manages till closing and end of shift report
  • Oversees the hotel's online reputation in coordination with Head Concierge and Management
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure smooth service and total guest satisfaction, also preparing reports regarding malfunctions to be notified to the appropriate departments
  • Maintains hotel standards in relation to all Rooms Division departments, coordinating with chain of ownership and managing ongoing operational follow up of standards
  • Will be dedicated to research and attention to detail

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or Bachelor's degree in tourism/hotel management
  • Experience of at least 2 years in a similar role at Hotels in the Luxury segment in Italy and/or Abroad
  • A personality with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, communication and problem solving
  • Excellent use of computer systems and PMS

As a preface to the job description points, we emphasize the importance and need for strong proactivity in the local and national market. Emphasis of efforts will therefore have to be placed on “sales calls” to acquire new contracts regarding the hotel's banqueting services, which has an ongoing collaboration with a well-known Michelin-starred Chef.

 

The main activities are as follows:

  • Using the hotel management system, both for updating rate profiles and sales activities
  • Entering contacts and activities into Sysdat, creating databases
  • Performs weekly sales calls as scheduled with own DOSM
  • Performs sales missions with a view to business development related to the banqueting and F&B area
  • Assists in office activities (handling scouting calls for new accounts, follow-up, etc.)
  • Creates a working synergy with the SALES and PR office through the exchange of data, contacts and information useful for this purpose
  • Participates in public relations activities, with the aim of expanding and retaining any form of contact that represents potential for the company's hotels
