Lucio Dalla, for whom this suite is dedicated was propelled to world fame by his deeply nostalgic song, Caruso. It conjures up the final days of the great operatic tenor and is full of love and longing. The song was so moving, Pavarotti sang it with Dalla as a duet. Our grand hotel shares the sentiments, as Caruso frequently stayed with us while at La Scala, in 1902 the very first recording of his voice was made in our room 306.
